Review: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Yesterday, after church our youth group went to go see "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader".

Negative Elements:

- Violence
-  Creepy Looking Monsters
-  Loud Sounds 
-  Dryads swim in the water, they are shiny and translucent

  Personally the things listed above I think might be just scary for little children. There is no drugs or alcohol.

Spiritual Elements:

This movie was full of`spiritual content. 

- Lucy, Edmund and Caspian went down into a cave, in the middle was a gold pool which was one form of temptation, greed.  Temptation.
- The Crew of the Dawn Treader followed a Blue Star to find Aslan's Table, much like the Star that the shepherds followed to get to Jesus
- Lucy prays to Aslan to help them and he does.
- In the Movie Eustace turns into a dragon and Aslan changed him back.

Spiritual Quotes:

- "No matter how hard I tried I couldn't do it by myself, but Aslan did it." (Eustace talking about him being changed from a dragon back into a human)
- "I was focusing on what was taken away, not on what was given to me" (Prince Caspian talking about why he wasn't going to go into Aslan's country)
- "I have another name in your world" (Aslan talking to Edmund and Lucy about how they would see him again)
- "Knowing me here for a little will help you know me better in your world" (Aslan talking to Lucy and Edmund about why they came to Narnia in the first place)

Sunny-Side Review

Review of Toy Story 3:

Overall/Storyline:

Andy is leaving for College. But he has to decide what to donate, what to put in the attic and what to take to college. A Simple Mistake puts the whole gang into a daycare,

called Sunnyside. But they don't know that the leader has no intention to let them go anywhere except the Daycare. The whole gang returns Woody, Buzz, Hamm, Slinky Dog, Mr.Potato Head and Mrs. Potato Head, Jesse, Bullseye and Barbie. And Introducing Lot'so Huggin' Bear, Ken, Big Baby, Twitch, Stretch, Chunk, Sparks, Chatter Telephone, Book Worm, Jack-in the Box, Chuckles the Clown, Mr.Pricklepants, Trixie, Buttercup, Dolly, Peas

in-a-Pod and Totoro.

Questionable Content:

Love Scenes Between:  Buzz and Jesse  

                                                  - hold hands 

                                                  - Jesse kisses Buzz on the cheek

                                          

                                         :     Ken and Barbie

                                               - rub noses

                                               - say "I Love You"

                                               - hold hands

                                               - Ken asks Barbie if she will live in his Dream House w/ Him

Gambling:  

Some of the Sunnyside toys used Monopoly money and batteries inside a snack machine to gamble. They used a "The Farmer Says" Toy to gamble.

2 Movie Reviews..............

Negative elements:

-Ian say things like "darn it to heck" and "god"
- The Chipettes do some moves that are a little inappropriate
-Towards the end of the movie Ian comes out in a strapless dress
- Alvin calls Ian "the devil"
(that is it pretty much)                                                               

The Blind Side:

Negative Elements: 

- There are about 10 cuss words used
- There is a drug/alcohol scene
                               

Planet 51 Review..............

Hey guys I'm back. Just as a F.Y.I I will be gone after church tomorrow until Wednesday. I'll try to blog tomorrow and on Wednesday!!!  If you guys ever want to get a good review for almost any movie go to Plugged in Online  my parent and I trust it. IT is made by  Christians so that make's it so much better.  But if you don't want to go to them I'll try to give you a review on every movie I see.  So to start it off I just saw Planet 51.  So I'll give a review on that. Unlike plugged in I will tell you the bad things because I don't know all of the positive elements because honestly I want to enjoy the movie not study it every moment.If I leave out anything please comment and I will edit my post!!!

Planet 51 Review:

Negative Elements:
- Towards the end of the movies Chuck is getting examined and he is under a sheet. When the rescuers save him he stands up and is Butt Naked ( they do not show it in the movie but you get the picture)  One of the residents that the astronaut has come to be friends with responds " that's a weird place to put an antenna". Very not needed and inappropiate.

That is basically all except the next one is debatable (whether it is bad)

- At the end the boy and girl kiss for a couple seconds.
